A Free Box of Pasta? Uh, Yes, Please!

I don’t know about you, but finding something that my entire family will eat is about as easy as finding a cure for cancer.  And to find something they’ll gobble up that is also healthy?  Well, that would be like winning the Illinois Mega Millions!  (Ok, maybe not quite as amazing as that, because let’s be honest, that’s a crap-ton of Benjamins!)  But it would be pretty spectacular, nonetheless.  That is why I feel it’s my motherly duty to tell you about a fantabulous product I recently discovered that was an unexpected big hit with each and every member of the Nucking Futs Family.

My husband and I happen to be HUGE pasta fans (seriously, we could be the Sopranos), and, unfortunately, he’s not been too thrilled about the fact that I switched to whole wheat noodles a couple of years ago for a healthier option.  He always complains that they just don’t seem to have the same kind of awesomeness that the regular ones do.  So, when I made up a batch of Dreamfields Angel Hair a few weeks ago, he was beyond giddy.  You see, it looks and tastes just like the good old-fashioned regular noodles, but it has only five digestible carbs per serving!  And it has twice the fiber of regular pasta!  Uh, winning!

And much to my surprise, my kids even gobbled the stuff up like it was gold covered in chocolate.  My extremely picky-eating son actually had three heaping plates of it!  I seriously thought that I was hallucinating again!  It just truly is THAT tasty.

And fortunately for you, the fine folks at Dreamfields are allowing me to pick three lucky winners to receive a free box of pasta of his or her choice!  All you have to do to enter the giveaway is to leave a comment below telling me why you’d like to win.  And you totally wanna win cause trust me, this stuff is the bomb diggity.  So go!  Enter!  Now!

** Contest ends Tuesday, February 28.  Winners announced Wednesday, February 29.

Oh wow! I wonder if I can find the stuff here in Evansville. We make up 2 batches of pasta, whole wheat for hubby & I, regular for the kids because they won’t eat the whole wheat.

  2. Dudikins says:

Need me some yummy pasta in me belly. Get in there!

  3. Kim says:

I’ve tried several different brands of whole wheat pasta with my crew…no luck! I’d love to see if they would eat Dreamfields!

  4. Hollee says:

Heck ya, I’d like some pasta! I have an amazing homemade sauce I’ve been making lately.:)

  5. Geraldine Lana says:

I would live to try that pasta as my familly can live on pasta only. My son is not a big morning eater but the one he will eat before going to school is pasta. You can easily imagine I always have cooked pasta ready to reheated for morning breakfast and for a snack before soccer and then of course they would all love it if I would give them more pasta for dinner :) they are nuts about pasta.

  6. Jamie Balone says:

I love Dreamfields! My mom turned me on to it as she has diabetes and has to limit her pasta intake. Since I worry about getting type two like her I try to cook the Dreamfields too. Being Italian we eat pasta at least twice a week! Can’t live with out this stuff :-)

  7. We’re trying to eat healthier so I’ll have to try this. I’ve changed over to wheat pasta but it’s just not the same as “regular” pasta. Hubby, daughter and I love pasta. Our son, not so much. I would love to change his mind.

  8. Debbie Whalen says:

We are huge pasta fans. I have tried to switch over to whole wheat and all I hear is whining and complaining, and that is just from my husband. With four kids to feed now and no time to plan a decent dinner, pasta is an easy go to meal for me. Free pasta please!

  9. Ann says:

I already love Dreamfield’s pasta!! That’s why I wanna win.

  10. cara fadeley says:

With sports playing junkies we eat pasta 2-3 days a week (my son SWEARS he has to eat pasta before hockey games to give him energy!) I should buy stock in the stuff I love whole wheat pasta – the kids not so much. I would love to try this!

  11. Nathan R. says:

Because I love pasta too and I’d post a recipe on my blog with it.

  12. Brett Minor says:

I would like to win because I am a single dad who is always looking for new things to cook. Some things turn out better than others, but I try.

  13. Elizabeth Fritzler says:

Im Italian, pasta is like part of our pyramid.. Have to have it!

  14. I love pasta too and think that I should win because of that fact and because I never win anything. Anyway, my pasta sauce is to die for and I make a mean carbonara. I have always wanted to try a healthier pasta.

  15. jayce says:

I try so hard to serve healthier food, the whole wheat pastas I tried just did not go over very well here. I have not tried dream fields and would love to give them a shot. Ive managed to get my home made breads and pizza doughs, etc at least 1/2 whole wheat and no one has complained. I would love to find a pasta with good results too!!!

  16. DrLori71 says:

A pasta that picky kids will eat? Sign me up!

  17. Mom2Trplts says:

My triplets love pasta ~ plain, little bit ‘o butter, little salt. Try passing off the standard whole wheat variety on them and I get “The Face”. If they would eat Dreamfields because it’s healthy AND good? Win Win Win!

  18. Sasha says:

No need to enter me in the contest….It is the only pasta we buy. I’ve done low carb for six years and Dreamfield Pasta is a once a week thing at my house. It’s all we use. I’ve been singing their praise for a long time. There is no difference in taste over regular pasta. The only difference I’ve found is you need to cook it a bit longer than other pasta. ENJOY!

  19. I’m up for trying a new healthy pasta- I try to sneak whole wheat in half & half with the regular pasta, but apparently I’m not fooling anyone…

  20. Leanne says:

I would like to win because, here too, the only dish everyone agrees on is pasta. The rest of the dinners I make? Someone whines. Sigh.

  21. Mike Jarvis says:

Since I never ever win anything, if I did, I would look exactly like your logo. Hair and all (A little grayer). AND I love a good pasta!

  22. We, like you, have a hard time finding something all the kids like and have have no luck. Also, for health reasons. Like someone mentioned above, I have to worry about the Type 2 diabetes factor, but still love to eat. This would be a good alternative :)

  23. Josh Sterner says:

It’s funny that you would post about this product right now. I just kicked off a new diet and I went to my doctor for suggestions. I want to lose 30 lbs by June (I’m 255 lbs it’s doable) and he told me to get off my ass exercise and to cut my carbs. I asked him it it included Pasta. He broke my heart when he told me yes :-( but he suggested I try Dreamfields pasta. It’s a little more expensive but WAY better for you. Eaten in moderation it won’t ruin my diet. Wish me luck on my diet. I wanna pull out my Mankini for the pool this summer! Jk

  24. Heather says:

Our family could eat pasta every day. Like you, we’ve changed to whole wheat, but it’s not the same. I’d love to make a pasta dinner that my family would gobble up.

  25. Jessica says:

I would love to win some free pasta! I am currently on a strict diet with my husband, and I am craving pasta like you would not believe!!! I have 3 boys ages 13 to 10 and let me tell you, watching them eat what I can not is killing me!! This would give me a sense of “Secret Satisfaction” knowing I can eat some pasta without the guilt!!

  26. Catherine says:

I have 6 of the pickiest kids ever! I would love to try a healthy pasta that actually tastes good!

  27. Gary says:

I love it myself! Aids the digestive tract too!

  28. Shirley says:

About 3 years ago I decided that I wanted a healthier life style realizing that I owed it to society to take the best care of myself that I could. I started running and am now up to about 20 miles a week. I also started watching what I eat, switching from white rice to brown rice, etc. Pasta is one of my favorite meals and I’ve had trouble finding a healthy pasta. Dreamfields pasta sounds like it may be the answer to my prayers. :-)

  29. Betsy says:

I’m a pasta lover, too. Seems like this would be better for my diet and still satisfy my urge to eat carb-y goodness for dinner :)
